GENERAL INFO
The "Portfolio Section" of course is the most important place for people of professional interest in any way. It’s a kind of summary of the current ‘state-of-the-art’ of my artistic skills. There is some already published work in this section either.
If there are any questions left for you, make sure to contact me.
The "Gallery Section" is the right place for people who are interested in my artistic evolution whatsoever. It’s meant to be a huge collection of all the stuff I’ve done during all the years. As mentioned, it’s meant to be huge, but the collecting work is still in progress :-).
It’ s also the right place for checking out whether there are prints or even originals available for sale, or if you can still get the rights of use for any specific piece. Just watch the links under the pictures for information about this:
Shop: this link means, that there are prints or related stuff like mouse pads and so on available, or you can even get the original painting. The link brings you directely to the "Jarling-Arts Shop"
Right of use: Following this link, you can get the rights of use for this piece.
Both in the Gallery and in the Portfolio I sorted my work into categories (Fantasy, Science-Fiction, Horror/Dark-Art, Romance, Painted Movies, Surreal, Kids/Cartoon, Technique / Architecture, and so on). I hope this will help you to find through all the chaos :-) - at least it helps me a little :-)
At last one thing - internet thievery has become a huge problem. I am really honoured and glad if you like my work but please don’t use it without permission in any way.
I’m going to prepare some images for free use in any way (wallpapers etc.) in the "Stuff Section" from time to time. Non-profit organisations and websites will be permitted to use those things without having to ask for any further terms of usage. But unfortunately I cannot give this permission for any images outside the stuff section due to the fact, that I do not obsess the rights on most of my work alone. It would be far to much work for me, to answer any questions about whether an image is free for this kind of usage or not. Please do me the favour to notice this fact!
If you intend to sell the presented images or generate profit from their use in any way without being the copyright holder presented on this page, permission is expressly forbidden. Read more about copyright in the "Contact Section".
Please respect me and my rights as an artist and don’t give my art away.
Think it’s enough said for now - have fun while exploring this site, leave a comment in my "Guestbook" if you like what you see :-)
Yours
Uwe Jarling

Atathoth Tutorial in Martin McKenna’s Digital Horror Painting Workshop
A pretty detailed digital painting tutorial of my Azathoth piece appears in Martin McKenna’s Digital Horror Painting Workshop. Thanks to Fantasy Flight Games (owners of the copyright of most of the pieces appearing in the book) allowing me to give some pieces to Martin for inclusion in the book.
What really makes me happy about the inclusion in the book is having my work published together with the work of some of my best artist friends, such like Matthew Bradburry, Simon Dominic and not to forget Martin McKenna and many more.
And here’s what the publisher has to say about the book:
Horror imagery has appeared in many and varied forms throughout its long tradition, from the whimsical American Gothic of Charles Addams to the erotic, biomechanical nightmares of HR Giger. Now, with the latest digital applications, artists are able to realize nightmare visions that are more realistic and more terrifying than ever.
Digital Horror Painting Workshop demonstrates how to use these latest digital techniques to create artwork in a wide variety of horror styles. It employs detailed step-by-step tutorials, analysis of spectacular finished paintings, fascinating work-in-progress drawings and sketchbook pages from leading artists working at the forefront of illustration, comic book art, and computer game and movie production design. Each section offers a guide to the creative process, from inspiration and initial sketches to fully rendered horror scenes.
Digital Horror Painting Workshop is a must-have for anyone wanting to create evocative horror paintings or for anyone who delights in the frisson of fear evoked by supernatural imagery at its very best.
So all you have to do now is go and get your own copy of this amazing book :-).
