Artist Profile in Imagine FX

A little artist profile about the “Renderosity Artist of the Month” appeared in the second issue of the brand new digital art magazine Imagine FX. Other than that there’s a really nice interview with Andy Simmons and me what we think about online galleries and things like that.

Some of my work made it into the book “The Art Of George R.R. Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire”

Just got a copy of the book “The Art of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire” from Fantasy Flight Games. I didn’t know that some of my work was selected for the book, so it came as a much appreciated surprise to me. Think it is not necessary to say that I really feel enormously happy to see my work among all the other great artists shown in the book. So what shall I say, thanks Mr. Martin :-) and Fantasy Flight Games!

“Some of the greatest talents in fantastic art invite you to explore the lands of Westerors and beyond as never before. From the frozen wilderness beyond the Wall to sun-kissed Dorne, and from the rugged and brutal Iron Islands to the exotic East, the breathtaking sights and memorable characters of George R. R. Martin’s best-selling fantasy series are brought to life in this unique compilation.

The Art of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire features lavish and lovingly crafted illustrations by renowned fantasy artists such as Jim Burns, John Howe, Ted Nasmith, Steve Stone, Charles Vess, Stephen Youll, and many more. The unforgettable images in this volume are drawn from book covers and special editions, comic books, board and card games, concept art, and fan art personally selected by George Martin from the thousands of illustrations that have been inspired by his work.”

Renderosity Artist of the month award (AOM)

Just right in time for Christmas I got the notification that I was voted for January’s 2006 Renderosity Artist of the Month, what a great Christmas present!
I really feel very flattered to receive this great honor.
Renderosity was the very first online community where I ever dared to post some of my work online, it is one of the biggest online art communities with more than 350000 registered members and 200000 active members, so to get picked out from so many wonderful artists and receive the AOM award from this huge community really means a lot to me.
A big THANKS to all who like my work enough and voted for me, thanks you all I truly feel very honored.

A little note concerning prints of my work!

I get more and more mails people asking if there are prints of this or that work available cause it is not in the shop – YES!!! There are prints of most of my work available, they are just not in the shop :-( - cause I just don’t find the time to update my shop system, so my online shop is more or less in a pretty beginning beta stadium at the moment. So please, if you are interested in owning a print of one of my works, please, please be so kind and just drop me a mail.
Currently I can offer fine art prints on canvas or hand made paper – these are the expensive ones.
For those who can’t afford such expensive fine art prints I can now offer cheap din A4 Epson prints, they turn out pretty nice and come on semigloss photopaper – each for 9.50 Euro.
Each print will sure be signed by me ;-).

So if you are interested don’t wait for the shop, cause I don’t know when I will find the time uploading all the stuff to my shop-system – just drop me a little mail and I will send you the print of your interest immediately. Payment can be done by Pay-Pal.

Thanks for your support, and don’t hesitate to order a print ;-) – even artists need some money from time to time :-)) – as soon as the shop works correctly I will let you know.

Have a great time on my site

Site updates - Shop - Your HELP needed

As you may have recognized, I updated my site a little.
Now I have a better NEWS system, so it is much more easy to me to update the news concerning this site and my art. So hopefully now the news will be updated more often ;-).

Also the SHOP system is now ready to go! Therefore I would love to have a little help from you. Currently I just have some high end Ciclee prints in my shop, but I know they are very expensive and not everyone is willing to buy such expensive prints (if one is willing to spend that much money, believe you won’t be disappointed those canvas ciclees are awesome).
However I think about doing A4 Epson prints from my work, which turn out pretty nice. The price for such prints will be around 10€ and they sure will come signed. I will be able to do prints of almost all of the work you can see in my gallery – so you would be free to choose whatever picture/ pictures you want.

So here are my question to you:

1.Will it make sense to do such prints, means is anyone interested owning such a print of my work?
2.Would the price for such Epson prints (around 10€) be ok?
3.What else would you love to see in the Shop? (cups, t-shirts stuff like that for example)
4.Any other idea is much appreciated!!!

You see I really need your help and feedback! Preparing stuff for the shop is always very expensive for me, therefore I really need to know upfront if anyone is interested ;-)

Any feedback about that is more than welcome, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a mail at:

uwe@jarling-arts.com

and let me know what you think…

And don’t miss to have a look at my lately uploaded TUTORIAL .

Thanks for all your support
